When trying to install a service in Vista, I receive the error message "Robo-FTP must be installed for All Users on this PC before running SrvInstaller"

Up to and including Robo-FTP v3.6.x it is possible to get this error message on Windows Vista even if Robo-FTP is installed for All Users.

This happens when UAC (User Access Control) is enabled on Windows Vista.

You will need to either disable User Access Control entirely or run the Robo-FTP Service installer as an Administrator.

The easiest way to run Robo-FTP Service Installer as an Administrator is to right-click on the shortcut for Service Installer and select "Run as administrator."

Another way to do this is to change the shortcut properties by following these instructions:

  1. Right-click on the Service Installer shortcut.
  2. Select "Properties."
  3. Click the "Advanced..." button.
  4. Check the "Run as administrator" checkbox and click OK.
