Are proxy servers supported using Robo-FTP?
Proxy servers may be defined when you predefine a Managed Site record using the Configurator utility. Click the "Use Proxy Server" box when Adding or Editing a site and you will be able to specify the user name, etc. to establish a proxy server connection. When a proxy server is defined for a particular Managed Site, the
FTPLOGON command automatically logs onto the servers in the correct sequence.
NOTE: In more recent versions of Robo-FTP, click the "Proxy Settings" button in the Add/Edit Site window to pop up a window to configure proxy server settings. See the Help file for specific details for your version of Robo-FTP.
You can also specify proxy logon information on the
FTPLOGON command directly. Look in the help file for this command and look at the
/proxy=, /proxyuser=, /proxypw=, etc. options. Note that
/gw is also an acceptable prefix for these options ("
gw" is short for "gateway" - proxy servers and gateway servers mean the same thing).
By default Robo-FTP will use proxy settings configured in Internet Explorer when the
/servertype option to the
FTPLOGON command is set to
