What are the supported PGP key algorithms in Robo-FTP 3.5 and previous?

This information applies to version 3.5.0 and previous. Click here for information on more recent versions.

A number of factors go into accurately describing a key. These include the key type, size, cipher, compression, and hash.

Robo-FTP supports the following in any combination.

Type

Size

Cipher

Compression

Hash

Robo-FTP can import public keys that use any combination of the above.

When creating keys Robo-FTP automatically chooses a sensible default, DH/DSS (Diffie-Hellman) with the AES-128 cipher. Robo-FTP gives you an option to choose a key size of 768, 1024, or 2048.

If you wish to create keys with a combination of options other than what is offered by the Configurator you can do so from the command line.

Simply open a command prompt (cmd.exe) and type the following:

cd C:\Program Files\Robo-FTP
gpg --homedir . --gen-key

Just follow the prompts to generate a key pair with your choice of options.
