Robo-FTP is unable to send email to addresses outside the local domain

If you are able to send email to other users on the same mail server, but not to addresses outside your domain, this likely means that the mail server is configured to restrict what users and/or IP addresses can relay emails.

In this case you might see an error like this being returned by the SMTP server in the Robo-FTP trace log:

550 5.7.1 Unable to relay

This usually means the server has a relay restriction set. You may need to configure it to allow relaying from the IP address of the machine trying to send email. The steps you need to take will vary depending on what mail server you are using.
